| Veggies are best eaten raw or very lightly steamed. Store them in the fridge in a plastic container (e.g., Tupperware or Rubbermaid). They will keep fresh for weeks. Certain veggies do not keep well in the fridge, such as cucumbers and tomatoes -- so keep them at room temperature and use them up quickly. Fruits are best consumed raw; they should be as fresh as possible (i.e., not "quite ripe"). In terms of storage, treat most fruits the same as veggies -- i.e., store them un-cut in plastic containers in the fridge. There are also high-tech, polyethylene bags available now that work quite well -- especially for larger items. |
