Luigi Cornaro supposedly healed himself simply by reducing
his food intake to 14 ounces per day:

but can't ounces be measured in two ways. One way would be
to take a 16 ounce bottle, and empty it out and fill it with
food, making 14 ounces of food by volume. But isn't there
another way to measure ounces? I can't recall, but I think so.
Also, does anyone have these texts and can they comment on
his calorie count as well as nutrient ratios? I remember
that he liked meat, eggs, and bread
primarily.

It seems to me, that he ate such an amount of food for each
of his foods.

"I consented to the increase before mentioned; so that,
whereas previous, what with bread, meat, the yolk of an egg,
and soup, I ate as much as twelve ounces, neither more nor
less, I now increased it to fourteen; and whereas before I
drank but fourteen ounces of wine, I now increased it to
sixteen." |
